If your dog has arthritis, there are two things you can do to control the disease. The first is to rely on over-the-counter remedies. Another option is to go for natural cures.
Here is a short list of natural remedies that can help ease the pain of arthritis:
Alfalfa can help soothe joint swelling. Make alfalfa tea by using one teaspoon to three tablespoons of fresh or dried alfalfa leaves. The right dosage will depend on your dog’s built and weight.
Studies have shown that seafood, particularly green lip mussels and perna mussels, can help restore damaged connective tissues. Shellfish extracts can be used as an alternative in case the former is hard to find.
Yucca is another painkilling herb. It contains natural steroids that can relieve discomfort caused by hip dysplasia and arthritis.
You may not know it but your dog needs vegetables too. Vegetables contain minerals and are rich in B vitamins. Go for asparagus, cabbage, broccoli, carrots and parsley. Mix them with pet food so your pet won’t notice them.
Another effective herb is comfrey. Some dogs eat comfrey leaves in their natural form. For best results, add chopped rosemary and parsley to the mixture. One serving per day is usually enough for arthritis.
There’s nothing better for your dog than a comforting massage. Whenever your pet is in pain, try rubbing its limbs with some herbal oil. Sunflower oil or olive oil will also do the trick.
These natural remedies will help your pet greatly if combined with the vet’s prescribed medicines. Check with your vet to determine which remedies will work best.
If your dog or cat suffers from arthritis pain, don’t make it suffer any longer. Relieve joint pain, lubricate the joints, increase flexibility and improve mobility with this best dog arthritis medicine.
