Whenever you bring someone new into your home, there is always a little bit of nervousness and this is especially true when that someone is a young pup who can ruin your carpets and all of your belongings in a heartbeat. Before you actually go to pick up your new Yorkshire Terrier, it is important for you and your family to truly sit down and think about what is important to you in regards to Yorkshire Terrier obedience training.

Like any other type of Yorkshire Terrier training, it is important that you have a game plan before you step into action so your training will be a success. Stopping and starting training in the middle or suddenly changing your training techniques will cause more damage then good.

By making changes that are not needed, you are basically throwing away all the previous training time that you and your puppy spent together.

Once you have decided that you know which type of Yorkshire Terrier obedience training that you want to use; you must decide which lesson to start with. And in order to avoid a lot of messy accidents, it is often suggested that you begin with something like potty training the lack of which could result in frustration while trying to focus on other issues and trainings.

Pick one lesson and train on that lesson and that lesson only, for as long as it takes. Do not confuse your puppy as mixing different lessons in your Yorkshire Terrier obedience training can cause upsets. It can cause confusion on the part of the puppy as the terms you use in training for one thing to another may get mixed up and it is important that your pup learns the proper commands in order to make this a success.

One of the most important things that owners should know when putting a pup through a Yorkshire Terrier obedience training routine is to make sure that you do not end up showing anger, fear, or frustration to your dog as he or she will pick up on that and that will cause an interference in the training process.

Keep a positive attitude at all times and make sure that you are praising your puppy each and every time they do what they are supposed to do.

Know that you are able to move ahead with your training, know that there will always be bumps in the road and it is only natural. With the few quick pointers you found here and even with a little reading in some different dog training books, you will see that training a dog on just about anything does not have to be scary or frustrating, but yet be an experience that you will remember for a long time and be proud of.
