A Guide To Finding The Right Mastiff Kennels

I will assume that finding the right mastiff kennels is a priority for you if you are reading this. High on your priority list should be making sure your pet bullmastiff is properly cared for when you are away. To assist you in finding the right mastiff kennels we have prepared some criteria to use in selection.

The Steps

The following guidelines should be used when locating a prospective kennel for your mastiff. Starting with your choices are the rights of your pet upheld. And while it’s true that you aren’t actually buying the kennels your choice should be made as if.

1) Create A List. Create a list of the prospective kennels business name, phone numbers and addresses. Also add some space to record the “Kennel Condition” and “Allows Tours” to each line. Contact each kennel to determine if they will allow tours. Immediately remove them from further consideration if they don’t allow it.

2) Calculate the Kennel’s cleanliness. This will be done using a scale of one to ten. With ten being the worst and one being the best. Pay special attention to the following:

- What is the Staff’s Training Regarding Cleaning. If it’s not performed at least daily then add 4 to the cleanliness score.

- Make sure the spaces are clean and free of waste for the mastiffs? If this isn’t the case add 4 to the cleanliness score.

- When a dog has a bowel movement do they immediately clean it? If they don’t add 2 to the cleanliness score

A clean environment is a great way to keep your mastiff’s health in great shape. Using the guidelines offered will allow you determine a score for cleanliness. Get rid of all but the lowest scores.

3) What Is The Feeding Schedule of the Kennel. Find out their policy regarding special request. This is important in determining if you can bring your mastiffs own food to the kennel.

4) Determine The Provided Medical Care. If they provide the right services then when you are going out of town you can use that as a time to have any shots or scheduled check-ups performed. A vet on call should be provided if the Kennel is not associated with a vet’s office. Medical training should be provided by the staff at a rudimentary level.

In Summary

You will have a choice to make after eliminating the kennels with cleanliness issues. Choose based on services and price. The mastiffs kennel that has the services and cleanliness you desire may be a challenge depending on your budget. By using all the information available you can make sure that the optimum choice for finding the right mastiff kennels for your beloved mastiff was made.
