Dog bites are pretty frequent in the US, with nearly 1000 people within ER’s every day due to a dog bite. There may be some that don’t care about dog bites really, but those that become seriously injured should find medical attention as soon as possible, as since the dog which attacked you could have been rabid, or maybe had another disease. This is doubly true if this dog was a stray, as the majority of strays do carry some sort of disease.
You could additionally be bitten by a domestic dog, considering that many dog owners do not adequately take care of their animals, or have kids that taunt them until they attack each individual they catch wind of. Animal bites could be very painful, and if you are bitten, you could need plastic surgery. Fortunately though, most cities require that dogs be leashed, or in a fenced in yard.
