Recognized Poodle Breeders

by Lisa A Collins

If you want to acquire a Poodle as your pet, check out the list of Poodle breeders online. It is necessary for them to be affiliated to good clubs like the kennel club or the Poodle club. This ensures quality and a certain standard, because the main aim of these clubs is to promote all dog breeds. Pick out any breeder on this list and he will advice you about your choice. But first of all he would like to know from you, whether you are the right person for his dog.

Such lists of breeders are available online, or contacts can be had from the local vet or even a kennel club, if you know of one near you. The Poodle is an intelligent, elegant and an active animal. It requires a lot of care at home, and if you approach a breeder, he interviews you to check out the home that the pet is going to.

Comparing Cost and Ingredients in Nutro Foods & Natural Balance.

by Rebecca Foxton

In comparison to other brands of dog food, how healthy is Nutro?

In all honesty, Nutro is a lower grade product that uses fillers instead of real meat.

Nutro does not make their product with human grade ingredients like many brands now do.

Under no circumstances could it be called human grade dog food.

True, it probably does not share the same price tag either, but there are many other healthy dog foods on the market, if you want an alternative to a brand like Nutro.

I recommend Natural Balance dog foods as the best choice, and its available at a very reasonable price.

Natural Balance and Blue Buffalo dog food use higher quality ingredients than Nutro such that they are not in the same category of product.

Nutro is most similar to the Waltham dog food brands which include Cesar, Chappie, Pedigree, etc.

Waltham pet foods target nutrition with convenience, as does Nutro.

Bichon Frise Breeders: The Genuine Article

by Mary Stevenson

One popular purebred dog is the Bichon Frise. The breed has existed in its current form since the Middle Ages. The Bichon Frise has been a companion of Spanish sailors, a beloved pet of French royalty, and even a popular and charismatic circus performer! Intelligent and charming, the Bichon Frise is popular because of the breed’s powder puff white fur and human expression. The breed is also extremely friendly and outgoing and even helped the Spanish increase diplomacy on their trade routes.

As years passed, the breed name was shortened to Bichon. During the Renaissance the Bichon became a favorite dog of French royalty. Unfortunately, the Bichon became commonplace and fell out of favor among the elite though it gained favor among the common people. Many were trained to perform tricks in traveling circuses. The French added Frise to the name to reference the breed’s soft, curly fur.

It is always good to be an informed owner and the responsible owner wants to learn as much about their new pet as possible so that they can attend to their pet’s care needs as soon as anything may come up.

You should always take the advice given to you by qualified people and seek out advice when you run into problems. You are not alone in your raising of a Siberian Husky puppy so use the resources around you.

You will notice right away that Siberian Husky puppies are active and aggressive little guys that literally do not know when to stop when it comes to play and that play can get very rough at times. This rough play is why many breeders suggest you do not get Siberian Husky puppies if you have small children.

The History Of The Shar Pei

by Melissa Coleman

The name Shar Pei roughly translates into English as sand-skin. The Shar Pei does have a rough skin and tough coat. Everything about this breed is tough - its personality, its physical strength and especially its history.

For centuries Shar Peis were strictly Chinese. They were not allowed outside of the borders. The first Shar Pei did not reach Western shores until 1966.

There is no consensus among Shar Pei information sources where in China the breed originated. Tradition indicates the small village of Tai Lai in Southern China as the home of the Shar Pei breed. They are most likely mutations from Chow Chow crosses that were line bred or inbred in order to emphasis their mutations, most notably of the loose skin and the abundance of wrinkles. Pottery and statues of wrinkled dogs from the Han dynasty (ca 200 BCE) have been discovered. The first written reference to a wrinkled dog was in a 13th century Chinese manuscript.

Dog Food

by BARBARA ELIZABETH

PETALUMA, California (AP) - Gus the dog has three legs, one eye and no hair, except for a white tuft on the top of his head. He’s a real winner.

The “dog days” of summer can be dangerous for dogs - especially those dogs left inside hot cars. Every year, countless dogs die after being locked in cars while their guardians work, visit, shop, or run other errands. These tragic deaths are entirely preventable.

Through this website, you’ll learn about what you can do to protect dogs from the dangers of hot cars. You can find out how quickly cars heat up in warm weather, whether it’s too hot to take your dog along today, and how to get the word out that it’s just not cool to leave a dog in a hot car, even for “just a minute.”
