Rottweilers are known to generally be as healthy as most humans and should have a life span over ten years or more. Of course, this holds true only as long as they are fed nutritious and proper food and there is no problem concerning their breeding. In addition, to prevent Rottweiler health problems you should ensure that you provide sanitary living conditions, proper veterinary care and vaccinations and give adequate nutrition so as to ensure it’s continuing good health.

There are many ailments and diseases that are common to dogs in general including canine bloat, inflammatory bowel and cancer. Canine bloat is a life threatening disease that starts by twisting the stomach and eventually causes outflow obstruction and can slowly stop blood flow throughout the body. Absence of bowels movements with vomiting and belching are just some of the symptoms. It is believed that canine bloat is caused by overeating, heavy exercise before or after eating and heredity.
