Everyone is raving about probiotics or “healthy bacteria” in the health and diet industry.
Contrary to popular belief not all bacteria is bad, in fact a healthy crop of certain strains of bacteria in your gut can help with digestive complaints and annoying symptoms such as diarrhea and IBS.
A healthy digestive tract and an abundant friendly bacteria population can help promote a strong immune system, leading to fewer infections and illnesses.
Probiotics can also help with people who have food allergies and intolerances.
Antibiotics may help us to get rid of infections but they also wipe out a lot of the beneficial bacteria in our digestive system, hence probiotics can be useful after a course of treatment.
If you have less friendly bacteria in your gut, other less friendly strains may dominate, leading to further infection or general feelings of being unwell.
To get the most out of probiotic treatment, a healthy diet should also be followed.

These days probiotics are a hot topic in human health and nutrition circles.
Probiotics work by repopulating the intestine with healthy bacteria, which can help with digestion and digestive tract complaints such as diarrhea and IBS.
If your inner health is not good, and your internal flora depleted, your chances of getting sick or worse still of contracting a disease will be higher.
It has also been scientifically proven that people who are allergic or intolerant to foods or substances can benefit.
Everyone know that antibiotics can help get rid of nasty persistent bugs, but they also kill off beneficial flora in our intestines so probiotics are often recommended after a course of pills.
The risk of not having enough friendly flora is that more sinister bacteria can claim a greater presence which may affect the health.
To maximize your immune system you should also follow a nutritious diet in conjunction with probiotic use.

Worms in cats are quite the common intestinal parasite, especially in kittens. Worms are so common, in fact, that your vet will typically test your cat annually via a stool sample.
Worms are parasites that feed off of their host. In this case, the host is your cat. There are a number of cat parasites, but there are three major players when it comes to intestinal worms.
Roundworms, tapeworms, and hookworms are the main types of worms found in cats. Fecal exam is the method of diagnosis and should be done during an annual check up.
Typically, cats that share litter boxes will all be afflicted. A fecal sample from one cat, therefore, is usually sufficient to determine if an infestation exists in the home. By the same token, it is recommended that treatment be given to all cats sharing litter boxes if one of them is infected.
Let’s have a look at more detail on each of the major types of worms that attack cats.
