Dick van Patten’s Natural Balance Dog food is scientifically formulated to offer optimum nutrition for your dog.
The secret to its success is the fact they use only extremely high grade meat from USDA approved sources with a combination of superior grains and vegetables.
Lesser foods have been known to only use the waste products from the animal such as ears, hooves etc which give your dog less nutritional benefit.
Premium health comes from a nutritious diet and the combination of meat plus carbs plus veg provides all the minerals, vitamins and goodness your dog needs.
The vegetables contained in every can are carrots, potatoes and that wonder-carb, brown rice.
Food that is easy to digest powers your dog’s system, without putting strain on it.
The importance of a healthy digestive system do not need to be spelled out.

When you are ready to buy a Shih Tzu dog you are ready to bring a new member into your family and that is a big deal and an important transaction. The Shih Tzu breeder you choose needs to be someone you feel comfortable doing business with and someone you can trust. Also gauge the feeling of the breeder as well. A breeder that does not seem to really care about the dogs he is selling is probably not worth doing business with.
You are going to talk to a lot of Shih Tzu breeders before you finally buy and a good Shih Tzu breeder not only expects that but also would probably insist on it. You aren’t hurting any breeder’s pride by looking around and they know you will choose the breeder that works best for you. If you see shady dealers engaging in animal cruelty then report them to the proper authorities right away. Shih Tzu dogs are living beings that deserve to be treated humanely and even breeders are capable of abuse.

When the owner calls the dog bad, the truth of the matter is the owner is probably the cause of this. It’s irritating when walking down the sidewalk in your own neighborhood only to have a dog jump up on your clean clothes. Many people find that their neighbors’ pets like nothing more than using other people’s yards as a toilet. The dogs are no worse than the children of the neighbor. When adults in a home are clueless about their responsibilities, you can expect only bad behavior from pets and kids.
The dog ought to be given pre-set behavioral limits when inside or when it is taken to public places. Inexperienced owners would be smart to find a dog trainer who can teach them how to properly handle the animal without breaking its spirit. You need to ask at the vet’s office or local pet stores for names of trainers who hold private or group sessions with the pet and owner; or you could instantly access an online course and nip any behavioral problems in the bud right away.

There are literally hundreds of different breeds of dog that one can choose from, but the Poodle is definitely a fan favorite. They are affectionate and loving dogs, not to mention absolutely beautiful. Poodle grooming is often considered as a drawback to owning these dogs however, because it requires so much time and effort.
Poodle grooming consists of a lot and Poodles need to be thoroughly groomed on a regular basis or tartar will build up on their teeth, their nails will get too long and their long beautiful coat will become matted and tangled.
Poodles are very high maintenance and because they have such long and unique coats of fur, it will take a lot more time to get and keep them clean and looking at their best. Their hair in particular will take a lot of work but there are many other aspects involved in Poodle grooming as well.

The type of treats you give your dog makes a difference in your dog’s diet. Do you pass out cookies and scraps from dinner, or maybe a piece of popcorn or two? Junk food for you becomes junk food for your pet. In fact, some healthy foods for you are not good for your dog. Raisins are a healthy snack for humans to munch on between meals, but they can be detrimental to the health of your dog. Keep your dog’s diet healthy even during snack time with treats.
Your dog views a treat as just that, a special treat between meals. For the most part, dog’s don’t care if you give them a baby carrot, rawhide chew, or Milk Bone. They are happy to get the snack. If you find you provide numerous treats during the course of the day, you may need to modify your dog’s diet to avoid maintaining a healthy weight. Giving your pet a whole bunch of treats sure is fun for both you and your dog, but can lead to serious health troubles.

Have you have ever wondered about the fate of dogs whose owners leave them, or are lost by accident? The unlucky may finish their days in a pound before being put to sleep.
The lucky ones will end up in an animal shelter; with a possibility of being rehomed with a new family; the shelters have encouraged neutering and spaying. This means fewer unwanted puppies from dogs without owners.
Still, some animals will end up in shelters, often through no fault of their own. Their owner may have died, or become unable to look after them, or worse, been unwilling to look after them.
On the flip side, some might end up in shelters because they were too much to handle for their owner, they may have become too boisterous around the children or had some behavioral issue.
Your first port of call when looking for anew dog should be an animal shelter as they have a whole range of dogs. You may even find the puppy you have always wanted right there.
