Isn’t your dog your best friend? You love your best friend, and you want him to eat food that is healthy.

Selecting the best food for your companion is crucial, but how do you make the correct choice among so many brands and packaging options — dry dog foods, premium dog foods, and all natural dog food?

When comparing pet foods, the first place to look is the list of ingredients on the back. This is a very simple way of knowing what you are feeding your dog. If you start comparing ingredient lists as you shop, you begin to get a feel for what is real dog food, and what is just waste products of other processes with fancy packaging and slick marketing.

Deciding on a dog food isn’t as hard as you may think; just read over the ingredients to determine the pros and cons. You’re on the right path if the first ingredients are human-grade whole meat, and you’re being led astray if the ingredients are primarily corn, soy and other fillers and by-products.

Cats and Gardens Don’t Mix

by Mike Roberts

You’ve probably spent a lot of time growing and maintaining your garden and the last thing you need is a cat in there digging around. Below are some tips on how to keep your feline friend out of the garden.

The very first thing you can do when trying to keep cats out of your garden is to make sure that you have your garden boundaries secure. If there are any gaps in your fence (if you use one), you should make sure that you block them to prevent any low access. Cats are very agile animals, and can jump very high. Normally they can jump a small fence, which is why you should also invest in string or taut wire across the top to deter them.

Buying Premium Pet Foods Is The Guaranteed Brilliant Choice

by Rebecca Foxton

For most folks, their pet is far more than a working dog. They are companions, friends and playmates. You could have several dog portraits above the mantelpiece to show your canine friend that you care, but by feeding them a premium food you are clearly demonstrating committed care.

As responsible dog owners, you know the importance of choosing healthy foods for your pet. Low quality ingredients, which are often found in cheaper brands, are avoided by premium brands that provide nutritional and health benefits.

Some pet owners may find the cost involved prohibitive to feed their pet these super premium dog foods on a long term basis, but this is really a false economy. The suffering of your pet and the vet bills resulting from poor nutrition make these foods a bargain.

Thankfully there are a number of affordable and healthy dog foods available. Natural premium dog foods can be quite expensive, but it is possible for dog lovers to find affordable options in several premium varieties.
